Somewhere in Wynyard...

I haven't actually been going out to eat all that often. Even if I do, it's no where special or new. Probably by now, you'd have realised that the past few entries were scheduled and probably backdated to months ago. Written when I had the time to write, ie when I was sick. I'm writing in the past tense because I'm hoping by the time this one comes out, I'll be all well and playing badminton again, because really at the moment, I'm feeling anything but well. It feels weird to write for the future...

While this is still going to be very much a food post, I have absolutely no recollection of where I actually went, nor the restaurant/cafe's name. It was all very long ago when I had a catch up with dear JC, one of my only university friends from my undergrad. We're due for another catch up soon, I think.

We hold many fond memories of being lovers of food and visited many restaurants. Once we graduated though, the outings grew fewer and much more limited to areas around Wynyard where she works.

This is at the Japanese restaurant that is right in front of Wynyard Station. You know, that one. Not very helpful am I....

Then we went further up some street and JC recommended we sat down and had a chat at one of the cafes on the ground level of some business high rise building.

She ordered a panna cotta, which came beautifully presented with a cover of chocolate.

Mine was a berry and red wine jelly cake.

*ahem* this time without JC's bunny fingers, haha.

Her green apple juice, freshly squeezed. My blood orange juice, also freshly squeezed. Pricey drinks, but very organic! I never thought apple juice tasted very much like apples, which is why I prefer orange juice. I'm talking about the bottled ones... even the famed Bilpin bottles of apple juice don't really taste the same as munching on an apple to me. This glass, however, I could almost feel myself biting into a granny smith apple just by drinking it.

Good stuff! Could rival the Renaissance Cafe at the Rocks I think! Now if only I can remember where this place was again.... Or maybe it's time I gave JC a call to set another date.
